EXHIBITION AT DEWSBURY TOWN HALL
Ever since its formation in 1963 Dewsbury Arts Group’s aim in furthering an interest in the Arts has embraced the Visual Arts. The first major presentation by the Group was, in fact, its first Art Exhibition held in Dewsbury Town Hall in October 1963. The Annual Exhibition, now a Summer event, has been staged each year since then in Dewsbury Town Hall.
51st ANNUAL SUMMER EXHIBITION
This year’s Annual Exhibition of Works by Artist Members will be on display at Dewsbury Town Hall between the 13th and 20th July 2013 (excluding Sunday) Further details of the exhibition will be posted in due course. The private preview for Members, friends and guests will be on Friday 12th July from 7.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m.

SPRING EXHIBITION 2012 at Dewsbury Art Gallery, Crow Nest Park
Another major Exhibition of Artist Members’ work is held annually in the spring under the auspices of Kirkless Cultural Services for several years this has been held in Batley Art Gallery but it is now held at the newly opened Gallery at Dewsbury Museum in Crow Nest Park
LIFE DRAWING CLASSES
Life drawing sessions are held regularly throughout the year at which all members are welcome, whether Art Members or not. Whilst no tuition is formally available at these sessions the regular members are always available with helpful advice for the beginner.

The Group also sponsors art talks and film evenin gs throught the season. Further details about any of these events can be obtained fom the Arts Secretary or from the Group’s Secretary. Artist Members are encouraged to become involved in the theatrical activities of the Group and might produce set designs and publicity designs for specific productions.
Artist Members of the Group are both amateur and professional and their work covers a wide range of style and media. To become an Artist Member you will be asked to submit samples of your work to be viewed by a Selection Panel. This is not a daunting process and can be easily arranged once an application for membership has been received by the Group Secretary.
